2022-2023 SGO Fellows Bootcamp
Past surveys of Program Directors identified a knowledge gap due to the educational focus of residency vs. that of fellowship. Incoming fellows may be underprepared for advanced specialty training, particularly in terms of surgical skills, clinical responsibility and medical knowledge. The program seeks to address potential knowledge gaps with lectures on: Pelvic Anatomy; Chemotherapy and Targeted Therapeutics; Immunotherapy/Toxicities; Palliative Care; Clinical Trial Design; Radiation Oncology; Research Fundamentals.
The 2022-23 Fellows Bootcamp launched September 7 with the first of eight modules. Each week, a new module will become available within the curriculum. Three of these modules will be live webinars, offering opportunities to connect with other incoming fellows. The recordings will be posted within a few days of the session for those unable to attend virtually.
